Reiki is a Japanese spiritual and therapeutic technique where practitioners channel "universal life force energy" to promote physical, emotional, and spiritual balance and healing in others. During a session, the practitioner places their hands on or near the client's clothed body, or even at a distance, to transfer this energy and facilitate the body's natural healing processes.
